Velociraptors were fearsome pack-hunters, often measuring around 6ft (2m). The relentless attack of large numbers of Velociraptors could exhaust and kill much larger dinosaurs. The similarities between the skeletons of Velociraptors and those of early birds adds weight to the theory that birds are descended from carnivorous dinosaurs:

• very long arms/wings
• powerful, grasping legs
• bird-like jaw articulation
• long tails for balancing at high speeds
