Much of our evidence for this period comes from rocks in Canada's Yoho National Park known as the Burgess Shale.

Over 70,000 exquisitely preserved fossils such as this worm Ottoia prolifica have been collected from this site, and together they provide a remarkable window into life in the Cambrian.
