Rana frogs

ranas.jpg

These two North American frogs - Rana sylvatica and R.pipiens - are thoroughly speciated: they have different geographical ranges, prefer different habitats, have different reproductive cycles and their hybrids are inviable. Their isolation has been estimated at 169% - a case of isolatory overkill!
