Molecular cloning is well established in current research. However, it is still a difficult method if the cloning strategy is not optimal. Finding the best cloning strategy can be the most time consuming step, because the available programs that allow to develop and optimize molecular cloning strategies do not contain all the tools a scientist need for fast and easy virtual cloning. Here we present an easy to use program for planning cloning strategies: Eazy-Clone. EazyClone uses the visual programming approach. This means, it encapsulates its tools inside modules, which can be easily combined on screen. Combining those modules gives the user the freedom to simulate and visualize double digestion parallel in donor and recipient constructs. This gives the user a list of enzymes that fit best for his double digestion. Eazy-Clone can also find all the restriction enzymes that only cut once in two or more DNA-sequences. EasyClone is open source so it can be easily customized and extended by a skilled user. EasyClone features powerful tools for scientists so that they can find the best cloning strategies without faults.
