The aim of our study was to evaluate morphometricaly the changes of the structure of auricla of the right atrium nerve plexus and collagen net, developed with age and their relation with ischemia.Study material was taken during operations and sections no later than 3-4 hours after death.Control material consisted of 17 cases, when people died from various diseases. Investigation material was divided into groups according to the age from 15 to 44 years. The morphometric research of nerve structures and collagen fibers was performed using video microscopic devices and partially automated image analysis program Image-Pro Plus v.4.The results of video microscopic research have shown, that in the control group the highest density of AChE-positive nerve structures was found in the yong age group-7.91±0.25%, and the lowest -in the older age group-4.98±2.28%.The research of density of nerve structures of IHD patients has shown that density of nervous plexus was lower in the same age groups.Video microscopic research of collagen has shown that with increase of age, number of collagen fibers in the heart increases;in case of IHD and insufficient blood circulation in coronary arteries, the density of collagen fibers in myocardium increases more rapidly. The density of nerve plexus of myocardium decreases and number of collagen fibers in myocardium increases with age.IHD
