Contains TeX or LaTeX. Where required the version of TeX or LaTeX used can be defined in the type attribute of the TeX element.

Note that because TeX markup can contain < and / characters, the contents of the tex element must be enclosed in <![CDATA[...]]>. More information on the use of CDATA markers in XML can be found at http://www.w3.org/TR/2000/REC-xml-20001006#sec-cdata-sect.
