A section in a document or toc. The basic component of any document. sections are further divided into subsection.
DTD 3 elements body and backmatter, are encoded as <section id="s1" type="body"> and <section id="s2" type="backmatter"> elements in DTD 4.

- contents -- the contents of a book (BPS) or a table of contents in a document e.g. of headings
- correspondent -- the adddressee for correspondence about an article or document
