General information about the content such as the title of the content, date of publication, copyright holder, issn/isbn etc. (see the list of sub-elements below).

An example of a contentinfo element from a journal article would be:

namegroup in contentinfo

In book chapters where the chapter is written by the author of the book and the author's name does not explicitly appear in the chapter in print, the author's details should be contained in a namegroup in contentinfo. If an author's details do appear in print in the chapter, then the name should be captured in namegroup in header.
