The data set that is used in the paper is provided in the file nycitydata.txt.
The file has five columns: pm2.5, day, month, lon, and lat.
Here pm2.5 is the PM2.5 concentration level observed on the day of the month of the year 2002 at the location whose longitude and latitude are in the columns lon and lat.
Missing values are marked as "NA". A command such as:
y <- read.table("nycitydata.txt", head=T)
will the data in R or Splus.
