Space–time modelling of precipitation by using a hidden Markov model and censored Gaussian distributions, P. Ailliot, C. Thompson and P. Thomson, pages 405–426;
The file "data_rain.txt" contains the rainfall data used. It consists of 10 columns with the following variables:
- Column 1: Year
- Column 2: Month
- Column 3: Day
- Column 4: Daily rainfall at Winchmore (in mm)
- Column 5: Daily rainfall at Highbank (in mm)
- Column 6: Daily rainfall at Christchurch (in mm)
- Column 7: Daily rainfall at Lincoln (in mm)
- Column 8: Daily rainfall at Lake Coleridge (in mm)
- Column 9: Daily rainfall at Rangiora (in mm)
- Column 10: Daily rainfall at Balmoral (in mm)
The locations of the meteorological stations are shown in Figure 1. Note that the paper only considers the data for April, which can be extracted from the file.
