Definition of Variables

year: calendar year (1985 -- 1998)
id: country identifier
polity: Overall Polity Index (-10 strongly autocratic, +10 strongly democratic)
f: dummy variable (1 if country’s press is Free, zero otherwise)
pf: dummy variable (1 if country’s press is Partly Free, zero otherwise)
nf: dummy variable (1 if country’s press is Not Free, zero otherwise)
terr: counts of transnational terrorist incidents (by country and calendar year)
