Grandin, U. and H. Rydin (1998) Attributes of the seed bank after a centuary of primary succession on islands in Lake Hjalmaren, Sweden. Journal of Ecology, 86, 922 - 933, Appendix 1 and 2

Go to Appendix 2

Appendix 1. Ecological attributes (see Table 1) of species found in the seed bank, seed density at different soil horizons and number of islands where a species was found in the seed bank (SB), in the vegetation in 1993 (1993) and in both seed bank and vegetation (Both). Seed density is calculated as number of seeds per total sampled soil volume in the different soil horizons, at the islands where a species was present in the seed bank. A dash in the density part indicates that this horizon was not sampled at islands where this species was found in the seed bank. Nomenclature follows Krok, T.O.B.N. & Almquist, S. (1984) Svesk flora. Fanerogamer och ormbunksväxter. 26 Ed. Esselte Herzogs, Uppsala.
