About the Blackwell Publishing Journals

Blackwell Publishing is the publisher of choice for academic and professional societies, as proven by the number of societies that choose to transfer their publishing arrangements to us each year. The societies we work with ensure that the journals we publish meet the distinct needs of the discipline they serve. Society journals also represent excellent value with lower than average subscription prices, on average only 40% that of the larger commercial publishers. Top Journals in their Fields

According to ISIs 2005 Journal Citation Reports (for journals in the sciences and social sciences), Blackwell is the leading publisher, measured by its share of articles published, in 26 subjects including Agricultural Economics, Allergy, Dermatology, Ecology, Family Studies, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Geography, International Relations, Nursing, Political Science, Public Administration and Sociology. It is the second-ranked publisher in 29 more subjects, including Economics, Entomology, Immunology, Law, Management, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Veterinary Science. It is the third-ranked publisher in another 24 subjects. Blackwell published 5.8% of all articles indexed by ISI in 2005, the third-largest number of any single publisher.

The scope and quality of the journals continues to grow to meet the distinct and changing needs of the disciplines they serve, with more than 20% publishing extra content in 2006.
