These lectures, sponsored by Blackwell Publishing, are delivered every year at the University of Maryland, College Park. The first lectures took place in 1998 and are assessed in David Lightfoot's book The Development of Language: Acquisition, Change and Evolution. The 2000 and 2001 lectures featured Noam Chomsky and will be a topic of a forthcoming book. Lila Gleitman was the guest lecturer in 2002.
