Published on behalf of The North American Society for Social Philosophy
Edited by:
Carol C. Gould
Journal of Social Philosophy seeks to publish creative approaches to practical and normative issues of contemporary social life, such as those arising from economic and other forms of globalization, violent political conflict, and the multiplicity of cultural experiences worldwide. It will place new emphasis on understanding the social contexts for political, legal, moral, and cultural questions, and will give priority to the development of novel theoretical frameworks, from social ontology to care ethics to cosmopolitan democratic theory. The Journal's new editorial process is web-based, with blind review of articles not only by referees but also by the editor, and it will enable a faster response-time for submissions. The Journal will also on occasion publish special issues focusing on topics of vital practical concern, in the conviction that these can be better understood with the aid of disciplined and innovative philosophical analysis.
In addition to four issues per year of the Journal of Social Philosophy, institutional subscribers receive the acclaimed annual publication Midwest Studies in Philosophy, edited by Peter A. French and Howard K. Wettstein. This year's volume is entitled Philosophy and the Empirical.
