Wiley-Blackwell is proud to sponsor the ACMHN's 2008 Mental Health Nurse of the Year Award

Wiley-Blackwell and the ACMHN are extending an invitation for nominations for the 2008 Mental Health Nurse of the Year award.

Sponsored by Wiley-Blackwell, this prestigious award was established to publicly recognise the achievements of mental health nurses, encourage professional development amongst mental health nurses, and promote the importance of mental health nursing as a specialty.

Wiley-Blackwell will provide the 2008 Mental Health Nurse of the Year with a $1000 cash prize and an additional $1000 voucher to spend on Wiley-Blackwell's extensive catalogue of world leading books and journals. The ACMHN will also provide full registration, and travel and accommodation for the award recipient to attend the 34th Annual International Conference of the ACMHN in Melbourne.

A special selection committee will assess all nominees on the following selection criteria:

  1. Outstanding activities or accomplishments within a mental health nursing role that exemplifies the ACMHN Standards of Practice for Mental Health Nursing and reflects the knowledge of mental health nursing theory and practice.
  2. Mental health service or community activities that show professional leadership and promote a positive mental health image through advocacy.
  3. Accomplishments in mental health nursing practice outside of regular duties or
    role functions.

Nominations open in March 2008 and must be received at ACMHN no later than 4 July 2008.

The recipient of the award will be announced at a special event during the 34th Annual International Conference of the ACMHN in October.
