Global Change Biology exists to promote understanding of the interface between all aspects of current environmental change and biological systems, including rising tropospheric O3 and CO2 concentrations, climate change, loss of biodiversity, and eutrophication. Topics covered include the following, in the context of biological implications and feedbacks:
Both biological responses and feedbacks to change are included, and may be considered at any level of organization from molecular to biome. Studies which integrate across levels of organization to provide a mechanistic understanding are particularly encouraged. Studies may be experimental, observational or theoretical, and may concern aquatic or terrestrial and managed or natural environments. Global Change Biology concentrates on primary research articles, but operates a flexible policy regarding other submissions, which include Technical Papers, Mini-Reviews and Opinion Articles.
GCB Bioenergy - a new sister journal of Global Change Biology
January 2009 marks the launch of a new journal GCB Bioenergy. The journal will exist to promote the understanding of the interface between biological science and the prodcution of fuels directly from plants. For more information visit: www.GCBBioenergy.com
Online submission to GCB Bioenergy is now open via Manuscript Central
NEW - Virtual Thematic Issues from Global Change Biology
Impacts of Environmental Change on Insect Management and Conservation
The articles of this thematic issue are associated with a symposium of the XXII International Congress of Entomology - Entomology: Strength in Diversity (15-21 August 2004 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia). Edited by Hefin Jones.
