Medical communities worldwide are eager to learn how to help their patients with stroke, which by the year 2025 will be the greatest disabler of people worldwide. Wiley-Blackwell is therefore pleased to publish the International Journal of Stroke, originally produced in partnership with the International Stroke Society (ISS), now the official journal of the World Stroke Organization (WSO), incorporating the International Stroke Society (ISS) and the World Stroke Federation (WSF).

The International Journal of Stroke is a welcome addition to the international stroke journal landscape in that it concentrates on the clinical aspects of stroke with basic science contributions in areas of clinical interest. To facilitate the international nature of the journal, our Associate Editors from Africa, Europe, Asia, North America and South America coordinate segments of the journal. Reviews of current topics are broadly based to encompass not only recent advances of global interest but also those which may be more important in certain regions. Items of news interest from all parts of the world that relate to all areas of stroke are also featured.
