Editorial Assistant, Books

The Editorial Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and editorial support to the Acquisitions Editor: organizing the review and development process for all proposals and manuscripts; ensuring the accurate and timely transmission of information among authors, editors, departments, and customers; completing handovers for all budgets; serving as a main point of contact for internal and external customer requests; working closely with team members in all departments in Boston and Oxford; attending academic conferences as required; and maintaining publishing systems records, contracts, and paper files.

Editorial Assistant, Journals

The Editorial Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and editorial support to the Editor, Sr. Editor or Publisher. The Editorial Assistant provides support to a number of staff with backlist management responsibilities. Total number of titles to be supported should not exceed 40. Support to include drafting accounts, contracts, annual and quarterly reports, pricing, internet research, meeting organization, external reporting, invoices and payments, rights and permissions queries and as agreed working directly with external editors. An advanced Editorial Assistant may also take shadow list management responsibility for up to 5 low risk titles.

Production Assistant

Working closely with a Sr. Production Editor the Production Assistant will provide administrative and production support to the Journals Production Department in its day-to-day operations. The Production Assistant must work independently and together with various team members and departmental managers on simultaneous projects as well as interact effectively with members of other departments such as editorial, marketing and finance.

Publishing Assistant

The Publishing Assistant provides administrative and editorial support for the Publisher and other members of the department. Typical duties and responsibilities include; responsibilities for all pre- and post-publication, financial tracking and reporting, global meeting set-up and coordination, correspondences with authors and contributors, and routine administrative support functions.
