Message from the Editor:
Plant Biology started ten years ago as the combined publication of the German and Dutch Botanical Societies, which merged both their journals, Botanica Acta and Acta Botanica Neerlandica, respectively. The journal is a platform for articles on every aspect of Plant Biology (Physiology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Genetics, Ecology, Evolution, Ecophysiology, Systematics, PlantMicrobe Interactions and Mycologie) that are of interest to a general audience of botanists, not just for specialists in a subdicipline of plant research. In the first ten years the journal has implemented several changes in the reviewing procedures, trying to make the period between submissions of manuscripts until the electronic publication as short as possible, has improved manuscript handling by a professional editorial office and has recently moved from the original publisher Thieme to Wiley-Blackwell to increase exposure and support. The journal publishes short papers, research articles and reviews and a special issue every year on an actively developing topic. Subscribers receive six issues per year.
