Federation of European Biochemical Societies
Founded on the 1st of January 1964, FEBS is one of the largest organisations in European life sciences, with nearly 40,000 members distributed among 36 Constituent Societies and 7 Associated Member Societies in 43 countries.
FEBS seeks to promote, encourage and support biochemistry, molecular cell biology and molecular biophysics throughout Europe in a variety of ways:
- Offering advanced courses (for FEBS members).
- Providing various types of fellowships (for FEBS members).
- Publishing primary research through FEBS Journal, FEBS Letters and Molecular Oncology.
- Facilitating the exchange of information at the annual FEBS Congress.
- Awarding prizes and medals in recognition of scientific distinction.
- Offering a free e-newsletter with job vacancies and news from the FEBS community.
- Facilitating news from member societies.
- Facilitating contact and knowledge between members.
