Message from the Editor of Traffic

The cell biology of microbes as well as effects of the microbial pathogens on the host cell have provided exciting and unique insights for cell biologists, and Traffic has become a premier journal for the publication of papers reporting new discoveries in this field. Traffic focuses on the cell biology of intracellular transport in health and disease. Of particular interest, Traffic publishes cutting edge original research studies and comprehensive reviews covering trafficking of intracellular microbial and viral pathogens as well as trafficking within eukaryotic pathogens. These papers have been collected and highlighted in the Traffic Microbiology Virtual Issue available at http://www.traffic.dk/virtual_issue_page.asp?id=10.

Other areas of interest include protein, nucleic acid and lipid traffic, molecular motors, intracellular pathogens, intracellular proteolysis, nuclear import and export, cytokinesis and the cell cycle, protein translocation, antigen processing and presentation, organelle biogenesis, cell polarity and organization, and organelle movement. All aspects of structural, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, morphology, intracellular signaling and relationship to hereditary or infectious diseases are covered.
